Minister of Health: Hajj Participants Must Be Aware Of Heat Stroke

Minister of Health, Nila Moeloek urged the pilgrims to be alert to heat stroke due to hot weather in the holy land.

"We have coordinated with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the government of Saudi Arabia to provide zam zam water for cold pilgrims using ice cubes. In addition, pilgrims' tents in Arafah have also been provided with air conditioning," he said on Monday (31/7).

The pilgrims, appealed to Nila, also restricted their activities outside of worship activities.

"Because the weather conditions in the holy land is still entering the summer with temperatures up to 42 degrees Celsius which can cause dehydration and heat stroke, so if not for worship, you should not need excessive activity," he explained.

The first wave of the arrival of Indonesian pilgrims to Madina continues. As of Sunday, there were 35 kloters with a total of 14,503 pilgrims arriving and occupying lodges around the Nabawi Mosque.

On this day is scheduled there are as many as 18 kloter that will re-arrive at Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport, Madinah which comes from 9 embarkasi namely Balikpapan, Batam, Jakarta-Bekasi, Jakarta-Pondok Gede, Solo, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, and Padang .
