Executive Board of PII period 2017-2020 is officially inaugurated

Executive Board of Indonesian Islamic Students (PII) period 2017-2020 is officially inaugurated. The symbolic inauguration took place at Indosat Building, Jakarta, Saturday (5/8/2017).

The inauguration of dozens of daily administrators was read directly by Ketum PB PII, Husen Tasrik Makrup Nasution.

The inauguration was attended by the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud), Prof.Dr.Muhadjir Effendi.

In his speech, Mendikbud congratulated on the formation of the new management of PB PII. Muhadjir also requested that PII work hard in building students through the cadre movement.

"Return PII to the school again, and return PII to a cadre organization to build the nation together," he said.

Muhadjir believes that the PII cadre program can be synchronized with Government policy. The reason is because, the Government is currently promoting character education, which is in line with the ideals of PII.

"Saturday and Sunday can be used by PII to develop students, which used to be used by certain organizations to develop students because now the organization has been disbanded, become an opportunity for PII to replace," explained the former Chairman of KB-PII East Java.

Then, Muhadjir appealed for PII to be a moderate Islamic movement. It does not contradict Islam and nationalism.

"PII must be in moderation, build a sense of nationalism and a balanced Islam," he said.

Muhadjir also entrusted greetings from the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo. Jokowi plans to be present in the inauguration, but undone because there is a more important agenda.

"I actually have a family event, but because asked by him, I still come to deliver an apology pack Jokowi who can not attend because there are events in Bogor," he concluded.

Besides Mendikbud, the inauguration of PB PII was also attended by former Minister Fuad Bawazier and Ketum KB PII Nashrullah Larada. Just known, the inauguration attended by hundreds of students, enlivened also by performances of dance, martial arts, and musical art of the students.
